Ypres & The Somme Remembrance Day Trip

Step back in time and walk in the footsteps of history on our moving and memorable day trip to Ypres. This thoughtfully planned journey offers a powerful insight into the events of the First World War, visiting some of the most significant and poignant sites of the Western Front.

Our first stop is the serene Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, the second largest Commonwealth cemetery in Belgium, where thousands of soldiers are laid to rest. A place of quiet reflection, it offers a deeply personal connection to the past.

We then continue to the Langemark German Military Cemetery, a stark and haunting contrast, where dark stone markers and mass graves tell a different side of the story. This visit provides a balanced and thought-provoking perspective on the human cost of war.

Next, we visit Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest Commonwealth war cemetery in the world. Here, endless rows of white headstones stretch across the landscape, creating a powerful and unforgettable tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

After these visits, you’ll have free time in Ypres, a beautiful and historic town rebuilt after the war. Explore at your own pace—visit the museums, enjoy the local cafés, or simply take in the atmosphere of this remarkable place.

Join us for a day of remembrance, reflection, and discovery—an experience that will stay with you long after you return home.

Please note: This trip does not include attendance at the Menin Gate Last Post Ceremony, allowing for a timely and comfortable return journey.
