Our first full day takes us to the magnificent Alnwick Castle, one of Britain's most impressive stately homes and instantly recognisable as the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the Harry Potter films. There's time to explore the castle's lavish interiors and fascinating history before enjoying the spectacular Alnwick Garden, renowned for its beautiful displays, unique attractions and stunning Grand Cascade.
B, DDay 3
A journey through Roman Britain awaits as we head to Hadrian's Wall, the impressive frontier built by the Romans almost 2,000 years ago. Enjoy spectacular scenery as we travel alongside this UNESCO World Heritage Site before visiting Vindolanda, one of Britain's most important Roman archaeological sites. Here you'll discover remarkably preserved remains, fascinating artefacts and gain a unique insight into life on Rome's northern frontier.

Enjoy a day that showcases Northumberland's spectacular coastline. We cross the tidal causeway to the enchanting Holy Island of Lindisfarne, a place of pilgrimage steeped in history and natural beauty. Explore the atmospheric ruins of Lindisfarne Priory before continuing to the mighty Bamburgh Castle, dramatically perched above sweeping golden beaches. With over 1,400 years of history, this iconic fortress boasts magnificent state rooms, historic collections and breathtaking coastal views.
