Day 1
Following a collection from home we head to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais. On arrival we continue to our hotel in Liege for a stay of 3 nights.
DDay 2
We spend today in Valkenburg, where we explore the Castle Ruins and Velvet Cave, a network of tunnels and passageways beneath the ruins. We also browse the wonderful Christmas markets, including the Christmas Market Caves, with festive stalls and twinkling lights transforming the underground corridors into a magical Christmas village.
B, DDay 3
This morning we visit Liège, home of the largest and oldest Christmas market in Belgium. After free time for lunch, we visit Drielandenpunt ('three country point'), the tripoint between Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, before continuing to Monschau, where we enjoy the festivities of the Christmas market.
B, DDay 4
Departing after breakfast we take the short sea crossing from Calais to Dover and retrace our steps back to East Anglia.
