Day 2

After a hearty Scottish breakfast we head to Scone Palace, the site of the coronations of the Kings of Scotland. We have time to explore, including the gardens, before we take a scenic return journey back to the hotel.

B, D

Day 3

Today takes us to the spectacular Glamis Castle where we enjoy a tour and visit to the gardens. Glamis is the ancestral home of the Earls of Strathmore for over 600 years, and is a living, breathing monument to Scottish hospitality; a place of enjoyment, reflection, laughter and wonder for all. We return to Pitlochry through the beautiful Angus countryside.

Day 4

Today we begin with the short journey from Pitlochry along a winding tree-lined road, hugging the River Tummel to the Queen’s View. This famous vantage point looks out over one of the most iconic panoramas in Scotland, directly to the west along Loch Tummel from where, on a clear day, you can sometimes see the mountains surrounding Glencoe by the West Coast. A popular destination since Victorian times, it is often thought the location was named after Queen Victoria who did, in fact, visit in 1866. However, it is more widely believed to have been named after Queen Isabella the 14th century wife of Robert the Bruce who used the spot as a resting place on her travels. We continue to visit another Scottish treasure, Blair Castle, the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl, and one of the first private homes to open to the public in Scotland.

B, D

Day 5

After breakfast, we commence our return drive to East Anglia, arriving mid evening where our door to door service will be waiting to return you home.
