Day 1
Following a collection from home we head to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais. Ona arrival in Calais we continue our journey through France to our overnight hotel in Saarlouis.
DDay 2
After breakfast we continue our journey to Italy, arriving at our hotel late afternoon. This evening we enjoy a welcome cocktail before dinner.
B, DDay 3
After breakfast travel to the romantic city of Verona, the setting of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet Stumble upon Piazza Brà, a large open space dominated by the imposing Roman Arena. Walk down marble streets to the heart of the town to Piazza Erbe, Verona's beautiful main square. We must, of course, witness Juliet's balcony from which Shakespeare's character reportedly uttered those famous anguished lines. There is so much to see in Verona so we spend the whole day exploring before returning to the hotel for our evening meal.
(please note there is an approx 20-minute walk into the town from the Coach Park or you can catch a park and ride bus at approx. 5 Euros extra.)
Day 4
After breakfast we enjoy a scenic coastal drive visiting the resort of Lazise, a pretty walled village with paved lakefront promenade. The 12th century Church of San Nicolo is known for its frescoes while the Sacliger Castle is also medieval but can be admired from the outside, being privately owned. We return to Riva del Garda for the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Tonight enjoy your 4 course Christmas Eve dinner with live music.
B, DDay 5
Merry Christmas to all! After breakfast perhaps take a gentle stroll along the Lake and around the pretty town before your Traditional Turkey Christmas lunch. In the afternoon relax before your typical Trentino dinner.
B, D, LDay 6
Today we visit the historical centre of Trento which typically consists of pastel-coloured houses and medieval arcades. Perhaps wander through the picturesque street towards the medieval Castello del Buonconsiglio.
B, DDay 7
Today we must begin our homeward journey. Departing after breakfast, we retrace our steps back to Saarlouis for overnight accommodation.
B, DDay 8
Departing after breakfast, we travel to Calais for the short sea crossing to Dover and continue our homeward journey.
